How did I arrive at this product?

Apart from my patients, I’d also suffered severe digestive issues for the longest time. It’s one of the things that make me attend to my patients better – because I’ve been in their shoes, and I understand what they go through.

Back to my story, though…

My severe constipation and frequent diarrhea had me try out different products, most of which even made the situation worse.

Wait a minute, did I say 70 billion? Yes, 70 Billion CFU – the number of live bacteria. Can you imagine you’re consuming over ten times the total world population in a single capsule? How cool is that!

That, if you’ve already guessed it, is why I felt the need to try out this product.

But that’s not all. The product also comes with 10 different strains of bacteria. Because each strain plays a different role in your gut, you’re likely to end with a healthy gut.

So, what makes the product stand out? It comes loaded with prebiotics, which acts as food for the probiotics to further aid their multiplication.

How Does Dr. Mercola Complete Probiotics Work?

Generally, probiotics work by supplying your gut with friendly bacteria.

Once inside the body, these bacteria work by destroying any unfriendly bacteria that could be the cause of your digestive problems.

They also go ahead to make a community of healthy microorganisms that’ll return your body to its original condition before the discomfort.

  1. Lactobacillus acidophilus

This is a common ingredient in most probiotic supplements. They’re friendly bacteria that naturally reside in your intestines. It breaks down lactose into lactic acid.

What else does it do? A randomized 2015 test showed that Lactobacillus helps reduce cholesterol levels.

A 2006 study also links L. acidophilus to reduced or cured diarrhea associated with multiple diseases. It’s even more effective when mixed with other probiotics.

More importantly, L. acidophilus helps treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) associated with such symptoms as bloating, unusual bowel movement, and abdominal pain.

  1. Bifidobacterium bifidum

Bifidobacterium bifidum is also useful bacteria in the gut. It helps clear out unfriendly disease-causing bacteria.

A 2011 random study also showed that B. bifidum helps treat the symptoms of IBM, such as bloating and abdominal pain.

To be honest, I didn’t think my system was strong enough to handle such, but I’ve been doing pretty fine. I insist on taking them at night because I realized they help me sleep better.

Dr. Mercola’s is pretty strong probiotics. You’d want to think really hard before taking more than the recommended two capsules a day. Actually, don’t do it.

If you believe you have to, make sure it’s under the strict guidance of a healthcare provider.

My experience with Dr. Mercola Complete Probiotics

I’ve battled dairy intolerance and generally poor gut health for the longest time.

This product has helped keep my digestion balanced, and my inflammation completely under control. I no longer have episodes of bloating, uncontrolled farting, diarrhea, and such.

Except for that one time I ran out of them and had to stop for a while. I had a few episodes of constipation, but it wasn’t as bad as before I started using the product.

Again, I wouldn’t recommend the long-term use of the product since it’s powerful. My current bottle expires in a month. After which, I’ll stop it for a while, just to watch the progress of my gut health.

Are There Any Side Effects?

In the first two days, I experienced some slight stomach pains. It eventually disappeared on its own, without me having to do nothing about it.

I have a sensitive stomach, so I kind of expected it. I mean, over 70 billion CFUs is overkill, right?

However, it would be unwise to assume that everyone will have the same side effects as mine since we all react differently to probiotics.

Please note that such side effects as constipation and abdominal pain, though common with several users, should be mild. And you should be able to get back on track in a few days.

The easiest, safest, and most efficient way to improve your gut flora is through diet. Eating the right foods, especially those rich in fiber, can help a great deal.

However, supplementing with the right probiotics can also help.

Well, I noticed a great improvement in my gut health after a short use of the product. Bloating, abnormal bowel movements and abdominal pains are now a thing of the past.

I’ve also been able to sleep better and keep my blood glucose in check.

Does leave skin matte, but not the most pleasant texture

I tried this SPF based on the positive reviews but found it wasn't a great match for my skin.

The SPF itself is quite oily when it first goes on, and once settled into the skin leaves a matte, almost powdery finish. Both the oiliness and powdery texture I did not like, so will be trying other SPFs in future.
